Ontario Content |
| When the Government of Ontario instituted its Feed In Tariff Program ( FIT ), one of the provisions was that Renewable Energy Generation facilities must have a high Ontario Content ( 50% ) in order to be eligible for the advantageous prices for electricity sold to the Ontario electrical grid. FIT applications from companies that do not meet the Ontario Content requirements will not be granted FIT contracts. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Since HPG is an Ontario-based company, and does all of its design, engineering, electrical and construction work using local workers, we find it much easier to meet this requirement. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Moreover, since HPG exclusively uses Inversion/Conversion equipment manufactured by Hybridyne Power Electronics ( HPE ), another Ontario-based company, the percentage of Ontario Content is even higher. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
In 2011, when the Ontario Content rule is increased to 60%, because our PV supplier will be operating a facility in Ontario, we will again be fully Domestic Content Compliant | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
