HPG Site "A" - Newcastle, Ontario

This Solar-Only site is located near Clarington, Ontario ( " Ontario's Energy Capital " )

Statistics :

Area :                            ~ 10.5 acres ( approximately 200,000 sq ft covered by solar panels )

Number of panels :     ~ 12,000  Day4 Energy model 48MC photovoltaic modules

Electronics :                 8 Hybridyne Power Electronics Hyperwatt 250 XL Photovoltaic Inverters

When completed ( expected 3Q 2010 ) this site will be one of Canada's largest solar arrays , and will be one of the first major solar arrays to provide power to Ontario's Electrical Grid through the Ontario Power Authority's FIT Program.
This site will feature the extremely efficient Hybridyne Power Electronics  Hyperwatt 250XL Inverters, which will deliver up to 30% extra electricity from the PV panels.
Visually, Site A will resemble this completed Solar Array , except that the Town of Clarington has requested that the installation be surrounded by a screen of trees between the array and the surrounding houses.

The PV modules will be solidly mounted on ground-based steel frames, pointed South, and placed at the optimum angle to capture sunlight and contribute to  the highest possible annual yield.

Although there are no high hills near Clarington, this 2 MegaWatt array provides an idea of scale.
